Clarence E. Braley was born in Freetown, MA in 1854 and was active as a self-taught landscape painter in the New Bedford area from around 1875 to 1925. He participated in the New Bedford Art Association and exhibited his work in watercolor and pastel at the Boston Art Club and the Art Institute of Chicago.
